Product Description
Belkin networking presents its latest innovation, the 54g Wireless Desktop Network Card. The Card works as an ideal standalone to give you instant networking capabilities. It features breakthrough 54g technology that makes wireless file transfers and downloads faster than ever before. 54g technology provides you with networking speeds nearly five times faster than the current Wi-Fi (802.11b) standard. The Card sets up on any desktop PC, with the simplicity of Plug-and-Play technology. It slides easily into the PCI expansion slot to enable a wireless connection to your network. 54g technology is the easiest wireless network to implement. The Card uses the wireless 54g 2.4GHz standard to offer you the widest working range - up to 1500 feet - and greater interoperability in mixed networking environments. 54g is backward-compatible with the 802.11b Wi-Fi networking standard, so it allows you to implement faster wireless technologies in combination with existing 802.11b Wi-Fi networks. An added Turbo Mode feature isolates your network from 802.11b wireless clients and allows your network to transmit data at the highest 54g data rate.
User Reviews:
Connection drops constantly with XP. A stressful ordeal.
Having spent hours troubleshooting, I still can't find the solution.
The connection drops every 30 seconds without fail, despite having 'very good' signal strength and no interference from cordless phones.

I suspect something is wrong with the drivers, as 4 other computers in house connect flawlessly, while this utterly fails on a new install of XP (sp3).

Works fine.
I replaced my wireless UBS dongle with this. Not any faster though really, but less resource hungry and also out of sight. Happy all in all especially as I got it new from one of the cheaper sellers.
Probably the worst wifi card I've ever bought!
This card is useless, I've installed it on my new HTPC and it can not pick a suitable signal up to be able to use the Internet at all.

The router is in the next room but my Laptop, 360, Wii & PS3 all connect fine to it which are all in the same room as my HTPC. What a complete waste of money!
Poor connection
Card tends to drop out every now and again and takes an age to reconnect to the Linksys Router. Wish I had gone with the Linksys card.
OK but you may need to be technical
This is a very cheap wireless card and great value for money however it took me over 2 hrs to get working. I have 8 years of IT support experience and without that I think I would have given up. I installed the card, turned the PC on and followed teh instructions. The software seemed to install OK but whenit connected it would not acquire an IP address. I couldn;t set XP to control the card and after about an hr of troublshooting the usual things, I deinstalled teh card in device manager and rebooted. I then reinstalled the drivers and it connected first time and worked. I would recommend this for the technical savy but not for techno phobes.
