Good budget product. I found the PCI card very easy to install despite never opening my computer up before. Switch off PC; open the case; remove blanking plate from back of PC; slide in PCI board; close case and turn on. Kingnet seem to have responded to previous feedback and there is now just 1 driver minature CD-rom and a full size instruction CD-rom (which I didn't read in all honesty).
The only minor problem I encountered was that the driver apparently doesn't have a 'Microsoft digital signature' - I loaded it anyway and my computer hasn't exploded so it can't be that important.
As with other reviewers I have no problems connecting or losing signal, a problem that seems to effect some of the named brands on the market.
Excellent product, excellent value. This is a fantastic piece of kit. I had been having long term problems of unreliability with my Belkin wireless card so I thought that I would give this product a try. For a tiny price you get the PCI card, an instructions CD, and a mini CD with drivers. It was simplicity itself to install using Windows XP to locate the driver. I use Windows to manage the card and have had 100% success every time I fire up the desktop, unlike before. I can wholeheartedly recommend this product, and thank all of the other reviewers for guiding me to it.
Driver support is non existent Don't expect any updated or current driver support for this product from Kingnet. Their website has no driver support for any of their products
Fantastic value for a fantastic item!! After buying my new Dell XPS 420, wasn't quite sure what wireless I should go for! Reviewing all the different wi-fi options available, this item sounded almost too good to be true!!
This is probably the best wireless PCI card. Even someone as beginner like me managed to easily install it. There was no need for the driver CD which was in the box as my rubbish windows VISTA automatically recognised and installed it itself!!
Easy set up, excellent range at a fantastic price. Highly recommended!! Don't waste your money on all the expensive PCI cards or USB ones before you have tried this!!
Better than the rest I had bought a Netgear wg311 (v3) PCI adapter for my pc initally (I choose this because I have a netgear router. I thought it would be more compatible.) At first it was great, then my computer started freezing and the adapter disconnected from our network when it did not freeze. I had enought of trying to fix it so I bought a wg111t USB adapter.
The wg111t connected but after about 1 hours into each session the internet would disconnect. This was really annoying as i am a gamer and you can imagine how annoying it is when your about to win and everything suddenly stops. The only way to get the internet back is to reboot. And i could not share folders at all.
I saw this with the great feedback I was a bit unsure about it, but nevertheless I bought it; I was so fed up with my constant disconnecting. I installed the .exe on the cd labled 'driver', did the hardware install and off I was. Not one disconnection. I can share files. I can win a gungame on counter-strike source (the online game I play) this is great. I would recommend it to anyone looking for the only reliable wireless adapter for a desktop.
